Financial Aid Checklist
Before you begin applying for financial aid, there are few basic requirements to consider:
- You must be admitted into a degree-seeking program at Williamson (Associate in Specialized Technology Degree programs) to receive any federal, state, or institutional financial aid.
- You must submit your final high school transcript or equivalent qualification to receive any financial aid. Until we have received your final high-school transcript, your admission will be placed in a “pending” status.
For more details, you can visit the Williamson Office of Financial Aid.
After your Williamson Financial Aid Award letter is mailed to you, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at (610) 566-1776, ext. 233 if you have any questions regarding you award letter.
Steps to Receiving Financial Aid
1. Complete Your FAFSA
- A Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will take under 30 minutes and is required to apply for all federal, state, and need-based institutional aid. For State of Pennsylvania grants, your FAFSA must be submitted as part of the grant application by April 30th prior to the beginning of the next academic year.
- List the Williamson school code (041238) on the FAFSA, and we will automatically receive an electronic copy. Williamson requires access to a current and valid FAFSA in order for us to process any of your financial aid.
- You can verify whether we’ve received your FAFSA by checking with the Williamson Office of Financial Aid or call (610) 566-1776, ext. 233.
- If you are selected for FAFSA Verification, you are required to complete a Verification Worksheet and other financial forms before any financial aid can be processed or disbursed.
2. Complete your Pennsylvania State Grant application (PA residents only)
- Apply for the Pennsylvania State Grant by completing the State Grant form. The form is available online directly from your FAFSA confirmation page. Look for the link that reads “Optional Feature—Start your state application—Click here if you want to apply for Pennsylvania state-based financial aid.”
- To apply for a Pennsylvania State Grant after you’ve completed your FAFSA online and missed the direct link, wait until you receive an email directing you to the American Education Services (AES) website to complete the State Grant Form.
- For additional information, please see the Pennsylvania State Grant application website.
3. Monitor your Williamson correspondence
The Office of Financial Aid communicates with students primarily through their Williamson student email accounts. New students will be sent their Financial Aid Award letter in the mail, but all other correspondence will be sent electronically. It is therefore the student’s responsibility to check their email account frequently.
4. Review your Student Financial Aid Award letter
After we receive an electronic copy of your Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) in the form of a Student Aid Report (SAR), we will upload a Williamson Financial Aid Award letter in Blackbaud.
