Ladies Auxiliary Donates $9K At Bazaar
Christmas came early this year at Williamson when the Ladies Auxiliary donated $9,000 during their very popular Christmas Bazaar Nov. 9 in the dining room. The gift is part of a seven-year commitment of the Auxiliary to provide 75 new wardrobes (closets) in the dormitories for students.
Auxiliary president Jacqui Stradley presented a large facsimile of the check to President Michael Rounds and Wayne Watson 4W8, chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Jay Merillat, dean of enrollments, was host of the bazaar and amused the full-to-capacity crowd with jokes. Russ Harvey 5W0 led the Artisans in several songs and Jim Dell’Orefice led the Jazz Band in several numbers.
The event also included a craft sale, luncheon, and many door prizes. A full-to-capacity crowd of 215 attended.
Jacki Stradley offered her thanks to all who donated gift cards for the newest part of the bazaar, the raffling off of a “Gift Card Tree,” a Christmas tree filled with $500 worth of gift cards.
