John Lawton, treasurer of the Board of Trustees and CEO and portfolio manager at the financial advisory firm Burke, Lawton, Brewer & Burke, spoke to a group of students on financial leadership and how to leverage money as a college student Tuesday evening. Accompanying Mr. Lawton was Brian Gallagher, a portfolio administrator at Burke, Lawton, Brewer & Burke. The talk covered such topics as developing a financial plan, budgeting your money, online banking, checking accounts, savings accounts, understanding credit, and debit cards. The talk was part of Williamson’s Spring Speaker Series hosted by Harold Burnett, director of student engagement and leadership development.
