
Three Williamson Students Heading To SkillsUSA Nationals!
Three Williamson students are going for the gold at SkillsUSA’s 51st annual National Leadership and Skills Conference from June 22-26, in Louisville, KY.
The students are: Masonry Competition — Cody Palmer 1W6 (bottom), construction technology-masonry; Carpentry Competition — Bill Davis 1W5 (top left), construction technology-carpentry; CNC Technician Competition — Joe Goodwin 1W5 (top right), machine tool technology.
The competitions will be held in the Kentucky Exposition Center June 24 and 25 and are open to the public. Competition results will be announced at Friday evening’s awards ceremony.
The SkillsUSA National Championship is billed as a “showcase of career and technical education students,” with more than 6,000 outstanding career and technical education students competing in 100 different trade, technical, and leadership fields. To make it to nationals, each student won competitions at the local, district, and state levels.
SkillsUSA is a national organization for students in trade, industrial, technical, and health occupation education with a membership over 300,000. The championships are intended to recognize the achievements of students and to encourage them to strive for excellence and pride in their occupations.
