
Three Williamson Students Make Top Ten At SkillsUSA Nationals!
Cody Palmer 1W6, a construction technology-masonry student, won a silver medal in the masonry competition at the SkillsUSA national competition in Louisville, KY, Friday. Bill Davis 1W5, a construction technology-carpentry student, came in 7th in the carpentry competition, and Joe Goodwin 1W5, a machine tool technology student, came in 9th in the CNC technician competition. Accompanying the students were Daniel Hiltebeitel, director of construction technology-masonry and SkillsUSA adviser; Ken Nelson, director of construction technology-carpentry; and Carmen Martella, director of machine tool technology.
The SkillsUSA National Championship is billed as a “showcase of career and technical education students,” with more than 6,000 outstanding career and technical education students competing in 100 different trade, technical, and leadership fields. To make it to nationals, each student won competitions at the local, district, and state levels.
