Vault Arrives for Energy Island
Another piece of the Energy Island Project was put in place this morning with the arrival of the vault. The transformer will sit on top of the vault, which is outside the power plant. Cables will go from the generator with 480 volts through the transformer which will step this up to 4160 volts connected to the campus loop. On hand to get the vault in place were Tom Ott, project manager; Tom Zane, power plant assistant; Kevin Knapp, power plant technology junior; and an electrician from Goldhorn Electrical Construction Inc. in Aston.
