
Position Announcement: Director of Construction Technology Masonry Program
The Director of the construction technology program is responsible for teaching all aspects of masonry theory, including estimating labor and material, site layout and preparation, bricklaying, block construction, concrete finishing, plastering, tile setting, tuck pointing, scaffolding, quality control, accident prevention, and the construction of footers, foundations, corners, and the erection of different types of masonry walls. The Director supervises the program assistant and oversees the instruction and training done by that position. The Director’s instructional duties encompass classroom lecturing, developing and updating curriculum, conducting regular testing and evaluation of student progress, issuing necessary syllabi and course outlines, and supervising student workers in selected campus construction and maintenance projects. The Director should be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). All instructors are encouraged to assist students in adjusting to the established disciplinary standards and in internalizing the vital moral and ethical values emphasized at Williamson.
QUALIFICATIONS
Trade School Diploma in masonry with at least ten years of progressively responsible trade experience to the level of job site supervisor. Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred.
COMPENSATION
Depending on educational qualifications and applicable experience, the annual salary for the ten-month appointment is in the $55,000 to $65,000 range, campus housing, if available, and an excellent benefits package.
