Comcast Sports Network Includes Williamson in Ted Meredith Story
The entire Williamson community has known for years that Olympic running legend Ted Meredith 19W11 learned to run while a Williamson student and now, over 100 years later, the rest of the country is catching on.
First, earlier this year Jack Lemon published “Immortal of the Cinder Path,” a book covering the life of the runner who won two gold medals and set two world records in the 1912 summer Olympics in Sweden.
Now, a 4-minute, 37-second biopic of the running great inspired by the book aired recently on CSNPhilly (Comcast Sports Network).
Along with comments from Lemon, “Olympic Runner, Ted Meredith, Putting Country Before Career,” includes a brief interview with President Michael Rounds and footage of Williamson.
The piece will air again on NBC-TV in August during the Olympics at a time and date to be determined (stay tuned for more information).
