Wrightson Honored as Veteran of Influence

Samuel Wrightson, Ed.D., vice president of education and dean of education, was honored as a 2016 Veteran of Influence by the Philadelphia Business Journal at an awards ceremony at the Ballroom at the Ben in Philadelphia recently.

After 23 years of service in the U.S. Army, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 1989, Wrightson dedicated his life to education, the last year at Williamson.

Earlier, he was dean of Immaculata University’s College of Lifelong Learning and assistant dean at the Valley Forge Military Academy.

During his military service, he spent ten years in special forces with two tours in Vietnam and tours at the U.S. Military Academy’s Preparatory School in Fort Monmouth, NJ, and Fort Belvoir, VA, serving as a deputy administrator, staff coordinator, and assistant commandant.

He earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point; a master of arts degree in community/clinical psychology at Norfolk State University, Norfolk, VA; and a doctor of education in education administration at Temple University.
