Hammers with Heart is the construction ministry of Wayne Presbyterian Church in Wayne, PA, and was brought to Williamson by church member Kevin Blackney 7W6.
The first week was for nine middle school students and the second week was for 15 high school students.
The students learned their new skills as they got hands-on experience building a small cabinet with Mike Neville 0W0, director of construction technology-carpentry, and John Capuzzi 0W2, assistant carpentry instructor.
The students also toured the campus and saw a video about the trades. At the conclusion of the program, a livestream video to parents and friends captured a ceremony in which each participant received a certificate of completion and a backpack with a set of hand tools, and got to keep their cabinets. Video of the ceremony is above!
