Williamson’s Fall 2020 Athletic Programs
In compliance with the decision of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), Williamson College of the Trades has decided to cancel the 2020 Fall athletic season. All practices and competitions for Williamson’s Cross Country, Football and Soccer programs are officially canceled.
“Intercollegiate competition is a very important part of the overall educational experience at Williamson. We worked alongside the NJCAA and USCAA to explore safe alternatives given the current pandemic crisis. While we understand the disappointment of our student athletes, coaches, and staff, we make this decision in the best interest of our entire Williamson community, as its safety is our top priority,” shared longtime Williamson athletic director Dale Plummer.
We are all very disappointed for our students, especially our seniors who will miss their last season of competition. Our seniors have worked very hard to build each one of these teams into a winning program during their time here at Williamson. We are heartbroken at having to make this decision, but ultimately the safety of our students and the Williamson community is, and will always be, our highest priority. Williamson will continue to work with both the NJCAA and the USCAA relative to Winter and Spring athletic programs and will release additional information as the situation develops this fall.
