7W0 and 7W1 50th Reunions Held
The Classes of 7W0 and 7W1 held their 50th reunion celebrations the same time at the Springhaven Club in Wallingford on June 4.
The classes began with a joint reception to mingle and get reacquainted and then each class moved to a separate banquet room for their dinner. For the Class of 7W0, it was their third attempt to meet after two other dates in 2020 were canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The Class of 7W0’s reunion included welcoming remarks from President Michael Rounds and “Fun Facts,” humorous stories about each class member who was present.
Then, the Reunion Committee of Jack Bendick, Bill Eyster, Bill Jimick, and Dennis Kozlowski, presented Rounds with a large facsimile of their class’ reunion gift to Williamson — a record setting $200,000. The fifth committee member, Edmund “Jake” Jacobs was unable to attend.
Bendick then gave welcoming remarks, Eyster gave the invocation, and Kozlowski gave a class toast and meal blessing.
After eating, Arlene Snyder, vice president for Institutional Advancement, gave welcoming remarks, and she and Bradley Richardson, assistant vice president for Institutional Advancement, gave each class member a 50th reunion commemorative medal to wear around their neck. Jimick offered a moment of silence for their departed classmates, and class members offered their remembrances during an open mic session. Closing remarks were given by Bendick and the evening closed with the singing of the alma mater.
The Class of 7W1’s reunion also included welcoming remarks from Rounds and “Fun Facts” about each class member who was present.
Then, the Reunion Committee of Robert Keys, Herbert Fankhanel, and Dave Steiner, presented Rounds with a large facsimile of their class’ reunion gift to Williamson — $46,771.00.
Keys then gave welcoming remarks and Fankhanel gave a class toast and meal blessing.
After eating, Snyder gave welcoming remarks, and she and Kelsey Turk, advancement officer, gave each class member a 50th reunion commemorative medal to wear around their neck. Steiner offered a moment of silence for their departed classmates, and class members continued to reminisce about their time at Williamson throughout dinner. Closing remarks were given by Keys and the evening closed with the singing of the alma mater.
