
Alumni Face-Off Against Students in Cornhole Tournament
Williamson alumni and students faced-off to determine who was “Boss of the Toss” in Williamson’s first Alumni/Student Cornhole Tournament on January 26 in Williamson’s Restall Sports Center.
The event, which was co-sponsored by the Williamson Association of Alumni (WAA) and Williamson’s Office of Student Life, hosted 11 student teams and nine alumni teams for a series of 10-minute games culminating in two exciting championship rounds.
Jake McKinney 2W0 and Brian Edwards 2W0 won their final championship round against Brian McGeehan 9W7 and Edward Smith 9W7, and students Wil Ferry 2W5 and Michael Ashton 2W5 claimed victory over Ed Bombily 2W4 and Josh Kirkpatrick 2W4 in their championship round.
Student championship teams received gift cards provided by the WAA and the winning alumni teams walked away with custom tees courtesy of Bill King, Williamson’s grounds supervisor, and other Williamson swag.
The event was emceed by Kevin Welde 9W7, WAA events chairman, and a Chick-Fil-A buffet was provided by Dan Flood 8W1, WAA alumni awards chairman.
