The Justamere Foundation donated $500,000 to Williamson College of the Trades, in Media, Pa., recently to endow a scholarship for one student in perpetuity.
This is the second $500,000 gift from the Foundation to endow a scholarship since 2022.
Dedicated to perpetually funding student scholarships for the entire student body, scholarship endowment at Williamson is the driving force in fulfilling the college’s mission of preparing qualified young men to be respected leaders and productive members of society. Every endowed scholarship requires $500,000 to produce the annual income for one Williamson student in perpetuity.
Benefactors like Justamere Foundation are recognized as members of an exclusive group of generous individuals who have endowed scholarships at Williamson, known as the Legacy Society.
The Justamere Foundation’s mission is to impact generational poverty through grants and scholarships for career education. The Foundation currently supports the John R. Thomas Jr Memorial Scholarship and the Bill Wandersleben Memorial Scholarship for Williamson students.
Williamson President Michael J. Rounds said, “We are very thankful to the Justamere Foundation for this wonderful gift. This second endowed scholarship from the Foundation will provide for the 3-year education of yet another Williamson student in perpetuity. Scholarships are vital to Williamson, since each student attends the college without having to pay tuition or room and board. We are grateful to the Justamere Foundation for their continued investment in the education of Williamson students.”

Williamson College of the Trades was established in 1888 through a $2 million gift from Isaiah V. Williamson. For 136 years, Williamson has provided an opportunity for financially-challenged young men to receive an education for a career in the trades. Williamson graduates 75 percent of students who enroll and 96 percent of the students have employment upon graduation. The trade programs at Williamson will be: Construction Technology—Carpentry Emphasis; Construction Technology—Electrical Emphasis; Construction Technology—Masonry Emphasis; Landscape Construction and Management; Machine Tool Technology; and Power Plant Technology.
