Timothy Gilligan, CFA 9W6, is the Senior ETF Specialist, Global Distribution, at T. Rowe Price.
Gilligan said, “When I graduated in 1996, I had no idea that one day I would come back and have the enormous responsibility and opportunity to serve as a board member and give back in some measured way. It’s a full-circle moment and I hope to help build on all the great work from all existing and prior members. I remain convinced that anyone who steps foot on this campus will fall in love with its mission. Joining Williamson’s board brings together a range of thoughts and emotions. They say people rarely remember what you say, but they sure will remember how you made them feel. My Williamson experience brings feelings of gratitude to all the people that made and continue to make this institution one of the best- kept secrets in higher education. For some, the institution represents an education in a traditional sense. But, as you age, you realize how the school benefits you in immeasurable ways: it takes you out of your home environment and allows you to grow physically, intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally. It helps you find yourself, your self-confidence, your self-worth, your vision. It’s a defining moment, an inflection point in the lives of so many.”
Earlier, he was a Private Wealth Adviser at Wick Capital Partners; Head of ETF Sales Wealth Management/ETF Specialist, at Legg Mason Global Asset Management; and an External RIA Sales Executive in the territories of Washington, D.C., Virginia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, San Francisco, New England, and the Mid-Atlantic.
His skills include being an ETF specialist, strategic sales planning, coaching and development, sales and share growth, portfolio construction, private equity, financial adviser technology, consultative sales, market and economic reviews, and private wealth advisor.
He has served since 2013 on Williamson’s Board of Trustees’ Investment Committee for the college’s endowment, without being a board member. He also is very active with multiple Williamson alumni events and student mentorship activities.
As a Power Plant Technology student at Williamson, earning an Associate in Specialized Technology Degree, he served as his class’ president all three years. He also earned a bachelor’s degree, at West Chester University, and an MBA at Drexel University. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 2001-07 as an Intelligence Specialist.
He enjoys racing bicycles regionally, across the country, such as Kansas (Unbound 200-mile gravel race) and Colorado (Leadville 100-MTB race), and a few international events in Finland and Iceland. He recently transitioned into ultra trail running and completed his first 50k ultra race in Big Sky, Mont., which climbs up to the top of Lone Peak Mountain at 11,500 feet.
He serves on the Board of Blue Sky Surgical, a nonprofit organization that provides surgical services to the world’s neediest patients. He and his wife, Carolyn, live in Conshohocken, with their two daughters, Lily and Isabella.
