Isaac Johnson 2W7, a Construction Technology – Masonry junior, received the Sons of the American Revolution’s William J. Yearsley 4W1 Award for outstanding service during the Founder’s Day ceremony on Feb. 5 in the Clara Schrenk Memorial Chapel.
This award, presented by Larry Magdy, president of the Sons of the American Revolution’s Philadelphia-Continental Chapter, is presented to a junior who has shown outstanding citizenship and the qualities of industry, self-discipline, personal integrity, reliability, and contributions above the call of duty. He also must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher and have fewer than 28 disciplinary points.
Johnson lives in Andreas, Pa., and was homeschooled. The youngest of ten children, he always knew he wanted to pursue the trades as a career because he enjoys working with his hands. Choosing Williamson was easy because his older brother, Josh Johnson, is a 2020 graduate, and he saw how much the school helped him.
He loves masonry and finds building things with his hands rewarding. He says knowing they will exist for a long time into the future helps him do his best and have pride in his work.
He has been on the Dean’s List every semester and his student activities are being an Ambassador and Archery.
After graduation he plans to work with his brother’s landscaping business and eventually operate his own masonry company.
His masonry instructor, Pete Zwolak, said “Isaac is one of the hardest working students I have seen since I began teaching. He always goes above and beyond what is required. He makes my job fun because of his skills and talents.”
