Williamson’s students did exceptionally well at the SkillsUSA state competitions from April 8-10 at Hersey, winning six gold medals and one silver.
Winning gold were: Issac Perkins 2W7, Desmond Johnson 2W6, and Gavin Daugherty 2W6, Automated Manufacturing Technology; Dominick Gallo 2W6, Carpentry; Jaden Hannon 2W7 Masonry; and Nathan Gill 2W7, Residential Wiring. Winning silver was Clinton Bertollo 2W7, Sheet Metal.
Pete Zwolak 0W7, director of construction technology-Masonry and SkillsUSA advisor, said “I couldn’t be prouder of how the students represented themselves and Williamson. They were very professional and represented Williamson very well. They went in with a good attitude, knew what they needed to do, and did it very well. The guys are looking forward to representing Williamson on the national stage.”
All gold medal winners will be advancing to the SkillsUSA National Competition in Atlanta, GA, from June 1–5.
