Dear Friends of Williamson College of the Trades,
I am often asked about the secret behind Williamson’s longstanding success. The answer is not a single program or moment in time, but a unique combination of mission, vision, and consistency of values.
From the very beginning, our founder, Isaiah Williamson, set a remarkable course—creating a place where deserving young men could gain not only an education, but also the skills, character, and sense of purpose needed to build meaningful lives. For more than a century, that vision has guided Williamson forward. While our values remain steadfast, the college has never stood still. In every era, Williamson has adapted to meet the changing needs of students, industry, and society, ensuring our mission remains both relevant and timeless.
This academic year, we are excited to share our story in a new way by launching Williamson Works—a storytelling series designed to reveal exactly how Williamson works. While many know us by reputation, this series will take you inside our model, highlighting the tangible ways the College is making a difference for students, businesses, and communities.
Through Williamson Works, we will explore the enduring principles that have powered Williamson’s success since 1888:
- Williamson fills a gap in both lives and livelihoods.
- Williamson fosters a strong sense of brotherhood.
- Williamson teaches more than trades—it imparts a way of life.
- Williamson builds a lasting legacy while positioning itself for the future.
We begin this series by exploring how Williamson fills a gap—providing students with purpose and direction while helping to meet the nation’s growing demand for skilled tradesmen. I invite you to watch our first story by clicking the video link above and see firsthand how Williamson Works. In the months ahead, we look forward to sharing more stories that demonstrate the impact of this remarkable institution—and the many ways in which it works every day.
Thank you for being part of the Williamson community and for helping to ensure that our mission continues to thrive—for today’s students and for generations to come.
With gratitude,
Michael J. Rounds
